TEFL / TESOL Course Overview

TEFL / TESOL Class Details

LENGTH OF TRAINING:

4 weeks full-time.

TEFL COURSE DATES & AVAILABILITY:

DAILY SCHEDULE & INTENSITY:

Students should expect to be in class from 8:00am - 6:20pm (with breaks, of course), Monday-Friday. Weekends are primarily free for sight-seeing and relaxation, but some homework is required.

COURSE LOCATION:

The training center is located in north central Quito, close to La Carolina Park.

CLASS SIZE & FACILITIES:

Classes are capped at 12 students with a maximum trainer to trainee ration of 1:6; Internet access is available at the school facilities, which also includes multiple classrooms.

This TEFL certification course has been specially designed to provide all course graduates with the tools to succeed as professional English teachers.

The Cost of the TEFL Class is $1,600 USD ($500 Deposit + $1,100 Balance).

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS & ACTIVITIES:

Quito is a metropolitan city with many social and cultural activities. There are various cultural and nature sites in the vicinity that can be visited on day trips or weekend trips. Students often make their own plans for the weekend or for socializing. Local attractions in the area include:

• Otavalo Market; Mercado Artesanal La Mariscal

Note: All students must also complete a special enrollment application followed by an interview post-enrollment with ITA. This will be sent to the student by the onsite coordinator in Ecuador. It is required to complete the application and interview immediately upon receipt to finalize your enrollment.

Housing Arrangements

Housing is not included with tuition, but once you enroll for your course, the onsite course director can assist you with making housing arrangements for the duration of your Ecuador TEFL Course. Typical options include (availability & prices subject to change):

Homestay - Private homes are available if you wish to experience life with an Ecuadorian family, and take the opportunity to practice and develop your Spanish. This option includes a private room with internet access and meals with your homestay family. Pricing is $18 per day, which comes to $126 USD per week.

Hostels & Short-Term Rentals - Students are free to arrange their own housing with a hostel or a short-term rental and the school is happy to provide contact information and advice. Prices typically range from $15 - $30 per night, or from $200 - $500 USD per month.

Pricing is subject to change at any time. Students are free to make their own housing arrangements but should check with the school about transportation options and distance from the school.
